I’m running a free 30 minutes Yin Yoga class on Zoom on Sunday, 5th March at 9pm.
Check the link for details.
Dogs welcome!
We have been doing a truncated version of the Hot Yoga 26/2 sequence in class for months now but always in a regular heated room.
This workshop will be the full sequence done with full timing in a warmed room.
It's an ideal opportunity to try the sequence proper and to broaden your yoga practice experience. It's one of my favourite sequences I practice.
At the end of the practice I will hold seated meditation and then some social with herbal teas, coffee and cake from 269 Vegan Dunfermline.
As always for these events we are in Zilda Holistic Therapies studio in Dunfermline and we are capped to 7 mats.
Sorry but this workshop is not suitable for beginners.

As we head into Autumn we took a look at the warriors.
It was a great focus for the week and I think everyone enjoyed something a bit different.
Warriors on the knees. "Makes you think a bit"
Feedback welcomed on the Gimmie Yoga Facebook Club page.
Delighted to be working as an affiliate with local Edinburgh based Ekotex. I have used their mats since my yoga day 1.
You can use the discount code "Gimmieyoga" on checkout.
Chilled out Hatha words.
How do you like your practice?
Late Summer is a great time in our Seasonal Yoga practice.
There is a feeling of heaviness in nature.
I've just finished reading this.
In this book on meditation, the reader is guided step-by-step on the journey towards inner peace. Practical examples and easy-to-do-exercises enrich the reading experience. It also explains the difference between mindfulness and meditation.
Totally recommend.
We are currently running mixed Yin and Hatha classes week about (alternate weeks) on a Wednesday.
These classes are in Zilda Holistic Therapies in Dunfermline on a Wednesday at 6.30pm.
Tuesday's classes are the same. Mixed chilled out Hatha in person and on Zoom.
Who should do Yin Yoga?
Yin is ideal for anyone who wants to engage in a quiet, reflective practice that involves holding passive poses for longer periods. Typically 4 to 5 mins in my classes.
It’s great to help you relax and leave the outside world behind for an hour. Think slow, low, chill, melting down into your mat.
Sometimes we just need to take a breathe. Take a moment. Something to turn down the noise and to step back from feeling we are always on and always doing something.
You are never too late to take up yoga. I took it up in my 50's.
We are all living longer these days and one thing you can do to help yourself stay mobile is take up a yoga practice.
Spring is a great time in our Seasonal Yoga practice.
It's time for some changes..
I have been taking extra time at the start of a class to bring students in to the room.
How do we do this? We spend a few minutes sitting or standing and we just focus on our breathe. We let the choppy waters of the mind settle.
Just allowing all the noise and commotion of the day / week to dissipate into the background. And allowing ourselves, giving ourselves permission even, to feel safe and secure for the duration of the class.
Please get in touch with your thoughts on this. Is this important to you? Does this make your practice better?
